"when you pass through the rivers"

Isaiah 43:1-2
"But now, this is what the Lord says--he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you Israel: 'Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze."

I Just Got Back Again!

I just got back yesterday from our last (hopefully just for now) Nashville trip. Thank you to all of the sponsors for helping me and those awesome kids in third-world countries. And thank you to all who prayed!
I will post more later about my trip. This last one was where I went and recorded the song that I co-wrote. And just for all y'all to know, it is a Christian song. The trip was awesome, and now I know what it's like to stand in front of a microphone and record a song professionally. BUT, NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED WITHOUT GOD. I owe Him everything, and I choose to give this part of my life to Him right now.
I encourage you to follow the steps God puts in front of you, even if you don't understand them. The thing is, we don't need to understand because God already does. Just like a Christian song somewhere says, "my life is in Your hands, I trust you" (I currently don't know which song that is, but it's somewhere, or something like that.)
And you never know, God might reveal some stuff to you someday about these steps you're taking, even if you still don't understand everything.
His plan is so amazing that we could never comprehend all of it! So why don't we trust Him with it? We should.
And by faith, we DO.
Do you agree?

Have a great day.

HIS Will, Not Ours

Sometimes it's hard to follow God's plan; God's will.
Sometimes He puts crazy stuff in your life, and you don't understand it; but you follow, and He opens doors.
It's scary and sometimes hurts—but it's healthy.
And it's worth it in the end if you follow HIS will, even if there are doubts, and even if some things do go wrong.
So we need to make sure we are following HIS will, and not ours. Making sure not to continue doing anything that is against the beautiful plan God wants to be fulfilled in our lives.

"Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded." -James 4:8

Follow Him

"'As they were walking along the road, a man said to Him, "I will follow you wherever you go.'
Jesus replied, 'Foxes have dens and birds have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay His head.'
He said to another man, 'Follow Me.'
But he replied, 'Lord, first let me go and bury my father.'
Jesus said to him, 'Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God.'
Still another said, 'I will follow you, Lord; but first let me go back and say goodbye to my family.'
Jesus replied, 'No one who puts a hand on to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.'"

-Luke 9:57-62

Jesus is not being mean here. He is making a point. There is nothing that should get in the way of us following Christ. And while no, it is not always bad to bury your father, or say farewell to family when you go somewhere, it is not suppose to get in the way of you doing God's will at the time.
It should always be God first. (And if you struggle with this, you are not alone; everyone does at times, and I know I still am.)

I was reading about Jonah recently, and he let his fear get in the way when he "ran away" from God(well, he tried, but you can never run away from God). We should never reflect that, even though it's tough.
Following Jesus can be hard, and at the time, it was hard for the men mentioned in these verses to do that.
But kind of like what Jesus said ("Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the kingdom of God"), we are not suppose to hold on to things we don't need to, but instead, go with God and proclaim and do His will, etc.

Our God is great.
Let's choose to follow Him and not hold on to things we shouldn't.

A story from Lauren Daigle

Lauren Daigle is my favorite singer, and I wanted to post this story she shared, and the song connected to it. Have a great day, everyone!

And to the one commentor who asked if I sing, yes, I do. :)

Your Heart

Not my picture.
Your heart
Your heart instead of mine
Your beat
Your beat instead of mine
Your love
Your love instead mine
Your will
Your will instead of mine
When my heart feels sad, and my emotions crash. When I am faced with change that I don't want, but know will happen. When I just want to cry...Your will above mine.

Your mountain
Your mountain I will climb
Instead of mine

Your river
Your river I will love
Instead of mine

Your heart
Your heart I will love
Over mine

When I feel alone, You are with me.

When I feel sad, You are with me.

When I want to hang on forever...
May I hang on to You forever. Even when it hurts so much.

There is a time and season for everything, and this might be the end of this season. Or maybe not, I don't know.
I will give all to you and please show me how to enjoy this moment I'm in.

I sometimes find myself wanting yesterday.
But God, let me love you and want you over my yesterday.

Your will,
Your will over mine.

I choose to love you, Lord. I praise you for this moment, for you are teaching me, if I listen. I pray I will listen. Help me to understand that you are teaching even now, and to love every season. For there is a time and season for everything. Help me not dwell so much on what I can't have, yesterday, and tomorrow that I forget to understand and love today. This is the day you have made! I will rejoice and be glad in it! -Amen
