Sometimes the Small Things are What Matters

Sometimes it's the smallest things in life that really matter. Sometimes it's the small prayers that matter. Sometimes it's the little faith that you do have that matters. Sometimes things matter that we don't understand matter.
But all the while, no matter what we see and don't see, the Lord is good! He has blessed us!

All Things Are Possible!

Sometimes there are things
That you want to do
But the expectation is high, and it seems impossible
You have a little faith,
But a lot of fear and hopelessness
You know God will provide if it's His will,
But what if it isn't?

You feel like you are alone,
Nobody close seems to understand.
But then...
God shows up
When you thought it was over.
He provides,
And your faith is renewed.
You are so happy!

God is working,
Making something out of nothing,
He took a tiny, underestimated dream
And turned it into a huge opportunity
That changed your life forever.

Now what?
You still need more help from God,
And you know you can't do it alone.
This is healthy—
We are never supposed to be able to do it alone.
Because our efforts fall like castles on the sand,
While His blueprints are better, stronger, and more trustworthy.
He wants our trust, and
He wants to make us stronger and more beautiful
Than we ever could be by ourselves.

To God be all the glory!

So be enlightened, follow God, & seek Him.
Work for it, and God will provide if it's His will.
But don't worry about it—
If you see that God is working FOR you,
Don't fret over if it is His will or not,
Just keep your ears open to Him.

Follow that dream, unless God tells you different.

This is a reflection of my life, and a message to you (and me ☺).
God has been faithful and has really showed up for me in the last few days. As you know, I am seeking sponsors for children in 3rd world countries, so that I may go write and record a song with professional writers and producers this year in Nashville. This free verse poem reflects some of how I felt recently, but I am much more hopeful and more faith-filled than I was! God is providing sponsors! Just today I got 2!
I currently have 6, and though I ultimately need 30, I am working on the 10 I need to go to the retreat. I have until June 1st (not May 1st, I was confused) to get 4 more so that I may go to that, and then, I need the other 20 to go record. (There will be 2 trips to Nashville.)

The door is still open to anyone who would like to help me out!
The cost is $33 a month, and you can cancel at any time. You can also make a one time donation if you financially can't commit to sponsoring, but want to help. Please comment below if you want to help and include your email (I will not publish your comment, so people will not see your email address).

[As of 10-21-18, I now need 12.]

Please pray that God will provide sponsors for these kids, and for me!

Be blessed and know that ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE WITH GOD!

A lot of the times we see the needs of others in third world countries, like Kenya, Honduras, and India, for example. But how can we really help?
If a kid can't rise out of the poverty he was born in for lack of education, food, clean water, and clothes, then how will he ever get better?
Well, there is a way to help!

I am partnering with Child Fund International, and am committed to helping 30 children in third world countries receive sponsorship. Child Fund is a non-profit organization out of Richmond, Virginia, and they partner with musicians to help get the word out about the needs of kids in third world countries and, in return, help people like me get their music out there and recorded with help from the Christian band Consumed By Fire.

I am asking you to please partner with me to help a child in a third world country receive food, clothes, clean water, and most importantly, education. This will change their life for the better, as well as yours. The commitment is simple and not too expensive, at $33 a month, which averages out to about $7.70 a week. That's like going out to eat once in a while, or getting gas.

If you want to sponsor a child for $33 monthly, please comment below, send me a message via the contact form on the side of this blog, or email me. My email is written out at the bottom of the page. Please contact me by May 1st!

If you would like to pay 6 months or a year all at once, click this link, scroll down, select my name (Amy Lane) as the student you are supporting, and check out!

Are you worried you can't make the donation each month?
There are other options! You can partner up with someone to share the cost (like your family, spouse, friend, grandparent, etc.), pay 6 months or a year in advance, or simply make a donation to the organization if you can't sponsor.

I Am Sponsoring a Child!

You know how I said that I had gotten the opportunity to find sponsors for 30 kids in third world countries? Well, I have become a sponsor!
Here is a selfie of me and my sweet girl!

Leticia is from Uganda, but there are many places that Child Fund International sponsors children in, both in Africa, and in other places such as India and the Philippines.
And guess what! Even though she is younger than me, Leticia's birthday is only 5 days after mine!

I am sponsoring for $33 a month. The way it works is that when I send in the envelope with my info and first payment, I will get my welcome packet in a few weeks, and then in a few months, I will receive a letter from her! Isn't that awesome?

This is the inside of my child "folder". It tells more about my sponsorship, and includes a bookmark that I can cut out with my child on it, and a phone number that I can call at any time if I choose to cancel my sponsorship. I am excited!

I am still trying to find 28 sponsors, though, [as of 10-21-18, I now need 12] and I need you to help me—so that I can write and record my music in TN, but most importantly, so that we can change the lives of these children together.
If you would like to help support me and sponsor a child, please comment below, use the contact form on the side of this blog, or email me (livinginfaithandfun at gmail dot com).

My next post on this blog about sponsoring will be on Wednesday!
Be blessed!

The Kibera Slum in Nairobi, Kenya (East Africa)

I have been learning a little about Kenya lately, and one thing I have learned about is the Kibera slum. According to a source, about 60% of the people who live in Nairobi live in Kibera, on about 6% of the land that Nairobi is composed of. Nairobi is the capital of Kenya. The video above was out on Youtube in 2011, but Kibera still exists right now.
Please watch this video and pray for the people (including Jeremiah), even if just in one prayer right now.
Pray salvation, deliverence, help, health, that they would be able to rise out of poverty, and for the churches there that they would be provided for, full and overflowing, helped, and full of truth; and also that they would bring the whole slum to God and that the Kibera slum will become a completely converted group of people who are decidedly following after God, and are devoted to God, filled with joy.
Also, for protection for those who are already following Jesus and/or are very close.

Thank you. We are truly blessed.

Adorable Picture!

Look at this picture I found from 2014 of my sister, Emily, holding our dog, Penny, after we got her! ♥♥♥♥♥ God blesses us in so many ways.
Have a great day everyone!

Psalm 1:1-3
"Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on His law day and night. That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither—whatever they do prospers."
